Heavenly Father, I come before You humbly, knowing I need Your wisdom to discern truth from error. You call Your people to be watchful, and I depend on You to guard my heart and mind against false teaching.
Your Word warns me in 1 John 4:1 not to believe every spirit, but to test what I hear to see whether it truly comes from You. Help me to measure every teaching against Scripture, not emotion, popularity, or personal preference. Let Your Spirit guide me into truth, never away from it.
Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105). Ground me in Scripture so I am not swayed by convincing words that lack biblical truth. Give me a hunger for Your Word and the discipline to study it carefully.
Jesus, You prayed, “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth” (John 17:17). Set me apart by Your truth. Shape my thinking, correct my errors, and protect me from teachings that distort who You are or what You have revealed.
Your Word promises that You give wisdom generously (Proverbs 2:6-7). Grant me understanding and sound judgment, so I can recognize what is from You and reject what is not. Align my desires with Your will, not with what is comfortable or culturally appealing.
Let my love for You grow with knowledge and discernment, as Paul prayed in Philippians 1:910, so that I may approve what is excellent and remain faithful to the truth.
I commit myself to prayer and to the careful study of Scripture, trusting that Your Word equips me for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Keep me anchored in truth and faithful to You.
