Sheltered In Your Love
Lyrics
Sheltered In Your Love
Verse 1
When the shadows fall
You are the place I run
Safe beneath your wings
Until the night is gone
You are my refuge
My mighty shield
In the secret place
Every fear is stilled
No danger rises higher
Than your name
No battle shakes the promise
That you made
Chorus
I am sheltered in your love
Covered by your grace
Held close in the safety
Of your embrace
No weapon formed will ever stand above
Your power, your presence, your strength is enough
You are faithful forever
And I am sheltered in your love
Verse 2
Thousands may fall
But I will not be moved
You command your angels
Watching over me and you prove
Every word you have spoken
Always stays true
You rescue, you deliver
You make all things new
I trust you completely
I rest in your hands
Your truth is my armor
On that rock I stand
Bridge
You lift me up high
Where fear cannot live
You pour out peace
Only you can give
In the darkest night
Your light shines through
My hiding place
Forever is you
Scripture Focus: Psalm 91:1-4 (CSB)
“The one who lives under the protection of the Most High
dwells in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say concerning the Lord, who is my refuge and my fortress,
my God in whom I trust:
He himself will rescue you from the bird trap,
from the destructive plague.
He will cover you with his feathers;
you will take refuge under his wings.
His faithfulness will be a protective shield.”
Reflection
Psalm 91 is not a promise of a trouble-free life. It is a declaration of where the believer lives, who the believer trusts, and what ultimately surrounds them. The psalmist speaks of refuge, covering, and protection, not as abstract ideas, but as realities rooted in relationship with God.
To dwell in the shelter of the Most High is not passive. It is a posture of trust, obedience, and nearness. It is choosing to remain under God’s authority rather than seeking safety in control, comfort, or self-reliance. The imagery of feathers and wings reminds us that God’s protection is not distant or mechanical. It is personal, intentional, and faithful.
This song was written as a meditation on that truth. In seasons of fear, uncertainty, or spiritual warfare, believers are often tempted to look for safety everywhere except in God Himself. Psalm 91 calls us back. It reminds us that real security is not found in circumstances changing, but in remaining rooted in the presence of the Lord.
Being sheltered in His love does not mean the storm disappears. It means the storm does not have the final word.
Closing Scripture
“The Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.”
– 2 Thessalonians 3:3 (CSB)
