Statement of Faith
1. Scripture
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, inerrant Word of God, written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Scripture is fully sufficient, authoritative, and trustworthy for teaching, correction, and training in righteousness.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 19:7)
2. God
We believe in one true and living God, eternal and unchanging, who exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—one in essence, three in persons. God is holy, righteous, merciful, loving, and sovereign over all creation.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; Isaiah 45:5; John 4:24)
3. Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and willingly gave Himself as a substitutionary sacrifice for sinners. He died on the cross, was buried, and rose bodily from the dead on the third day. He ascended into heaven and now reigns as Lord and intercedes for His people.
(John 1:1-14; Colossians 2:9; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Hebrews 7:25)
4. Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. No one can earn righteousness through works, law-keeping, heritage, or obedience. Justification is a gift of God, received by faith, and secured by the finished work of Christ.
(Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:21-28; Galatians 2:16)
5. The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and the third Person of the Trinity. He was sent by the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, to regenerate the hearts of those who believe, and to dwell in every true believer.
The Holy Spirit brings new life, unites believers to Christ, and bears witness to the truth of the gospel. He illuminates Scripture, guides believers into truth, and empowers them to live lives marked by obedience, holiness, and love.
The Holy Spirit enables believers to discern truth from error by anchoring their understanding in Scripture, not experience alone. He does not contradict or add to God’s Word, but faithfully glorifies Christ by applying Scripture to the hearts and lives of believers. True spiritual growth is evidenced not by secret knowledge or external law-keeping, but by faith, repentance, and the fruit of the Spirit.
(John 14:16-17, 26; John 16:8-14; Romans 8:9-16; Titus 3:5; Galatians 5:22-25; 1 Corinthians 2:12-14)
6. New Life and Sanctification
We believe that all who trust in Christ are born again by the Holy Spirit and are united to Christ. Good works and obedience are the fruit of salvation, not the means of it. Believers are progressively sanctified as they grow in faith, truth, and obedience through the power of the Spirit.
(John 3:3-8; Romans 8:1-11; James 2:17; Philippians 1:6)
7. Humanity and Sin
We believe all people are created in the image of God and possess inherent dignity. Through Adam, sin entered the world, and all humanity is fallen and in need of redemption. Sin separates humanity from God, and only Christ reconciles us to Him.
(Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12)
8. The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all believers from every nation, tribe, and tongue. The Church is not defined by ethnicity or lineage, but by faith in Christ. Believers are united as one new people in Christ.
(1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 2:14-16; Galatians 3:26-29)
9. Israel and the Promises of God
We believe God is faithful to His promises and that all the promises of God find their fulfillment in Jesus Christ. All who are in Christ—Jew and Gentile alike—are heirs of God’s promises by faith, not by flesh or genealogy.
(Romans 9-11; 2 Corinthians 1:20; Ephesians 3:6)
10. Spiritual Warfare
We believe Satan is a real, defeated enemy who opposes God’s purposes. Believers engage in spiritual warfare not against people, but against spiritual forces of evil, standing firm in Christ through truth, righteousness, faith, and prayer.
(Ephesians 6:10-18; 1 Peter 5:8-9; Colossians 2:15)
11. Christian Living
We believe believers are called to live holy, transformed lives—renewing their minds by God’s Word, loving others, and bearing witness to the gospel. We are called to be in the world, but not of it, living as ambassadors for Christ.
(Romans 12:1-2; Matthew 5:16; 2 Corinthians 5:20)
12. The Return of Christ and Final Judgment
We believe Jesus Christ will return bodily and visibly to judge the living and the dead. All people will stand before God, and eternal life is granted to those who are in Christ. Our hope rests not in speculation, but in the sure promise of His return.
(Acts 1:11; John 5:28-29; Revelation 22:12)
13. The Mission
We believe the mission of the Church is to glorify God by proclaiming the gospel, making disciples, and walking in truth and love. Our confidence is in Christ alone, and our aim is faithfulness, not fear.
(Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Corinthians 1:23; Colossians 1:28)
